Introducing Yoga For The Singer

I was never athletic. I hated sports, sweating, the feeling of my heart racing, and any minor discomfort or soreness that would occur as a result of exercise. I actually still have recurring nightmares that I failed gym and didn’t graduate high school (because that was almost a problem for me *facepalm*) “I’m just a singer,” I’d say. I didn’t think my body was capable of being strong or flexible. I didn’t think I’d find something to calm my ever-anxious and overthinking brain. I didn’t think I'd find something that would change my perspective on life - and on my voice.

When the pandemic started in 2020, I knew that I needed something to bring structure to my days in quarantine. After all, It was just me and my fiancé in our condo in Nashville. I knew I needed to move.

For years, my therpist, friends, family, and the internet all told me how amazing yoga was. I always dismissed it and put it in the category of “athletic” things I could never do. But hey, these were unprecendented times. So I gave it a try with some classic Yoga With Adriene videos on YouTube. And just like that, I was hooked.

It wasn’t long before I experienced the life-changing effects of yoga on my mental and physical health, and before I recognized the many parallels between yoga and singing. I thought, singers everywhere need to experience this.

And finally, here we are. Introducing Yoga For The Singer :) Thank you for coming on this journey with me.
